Primary Care
A Whole Person Approach
Imagine a primary care provider who really knows you—your family relationships; what makes you happy; what makes you sad; what your hopes are for a healthy and fulfilling life. Imagine as well, leaving your appointment with more insight and knowledge on how to best optimize your long-term health using natural approaches that are safe and effective and recommendations for important lifestyle changes.
Jennifer Adams is the Center's Adult Nurse Practitioner who is trained in holistic primary care.
Being Understood: In Jennifer's Own Words:
"My practice is about wholeness. It is through active listening and supportive dialogue with each other that we explore all avenues of your life. Whether it is relief of symptoms, support in the restoration of physical and emotional balance, or mainstream approaches to health care, I will travel the path as your partner".
"...A Broader View..."
"You will come into my office and have your primary care needs met with a broader view of what it means to be human and be offered different approaches to addressing your health needs. My commitment is to see each individual as a unique being expressing in their unique way; and if stress or illness is present, to see how we can work with this in order to achieve the desired goal."
Not A Typical Primary Care Office Setting
I treat illness with a variety of methods depending on the patient and their needs. I spend time getting to know you as a person and together we look deeply into what symptoms are occurring and the best way to treat them. Often, pharmaceuticals are prescribed in a typical primary care office setting without consideration that there could be other ways of treating that may actually strengthen something within ourselves that is asking to be attended to. Pharmaceuticals provide symptom management rather than addressing or allowing our innate wisdom to possibly do the healing itself, which would have more lasting effect. In my integrative approach, I realize that sometimes pharmaceuticals are needed, but it is always in mind as a temporary measure. Exercise, nutrition, lifestyle management, herbs, acupuncture, massage, lymphatic drainage, yoga and meditation are all ways to support our bodies to harmony and therefore to health. We are all unique individuals and our ways of healing are just as individualistic."
"We All Need Or Desire Support"
One thing I have found is we are all human with similar human tendencies. We all need or desire support in some form or other. I, as a medical professional and healer, am here to assist and support people in the process of their own healing. It is not only a blessing for me but an honor."
In The Words Of Other Patients:
"I needed a primary care provider, and I wanted a holistic focus. Jenn is wonderful. She's seen me through [this] surgery, my protracted recovery, and now also provides care for my entire family in a skilled, compassionate and holistic manner. It's wonderful to see someone for your health needs that remembers your name and story from visit to visit!"~ Susan Rosenberg.
"It was a breath of fresh air to find a primary care provider who listens and never made me feel rushed. Jennifer offered me options that helped me become less dependent on drugs and gave me my health back. I recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a more comprehensive and individual medical approach."~ Robert S.
