Community Acupuncture
The Center for Integrative Health and Healing is proud to open the first and only community acupuncture clinic in the Capital Region. In an effort to further serve our community, and to reach those who otherwise could not afford acupuncture, we are expanding our services. Community acupuncture provides a unique, serene and supportive group atmosphere, offering effective acupuncture techniques for a broad range of health concerns.
The synergy of group healing rituals has been used in native traditions throughout the world. Our mission is to create an enhanced therapeutic atmosphere by combining the energy of multiple clients sharing in the healing technique of acupuncture together.
How it works
For half the cost of a typical, one hour acupuncture session, clients receive acupuncture in a spacious and comfortable room equipped primarily with lounge chairs, as well as massage tables. Your acupuncturist, Christopher Reilly or Rebecca Rice will speak with you about the health concerns you would like to address with acupuncture, and guide you to a comfortable room that you will share with up to six other clients. You will then be seated in a comfortable reclining chair and receive the expert care for which the Center has become known in upstate New York.
Hair-thin acupuncture needles will be placed according to your needs and comfort level, primarily in the limbs and ears. Once the acupuncture is in place, you can then relax, and soak up the positive synergy of the group healing experience. Most clients find the chairs and atmosphere relaxing enough to take a short nap. The soft music and warm atmosphere combine to create a very relaxing, and therapeutic environment.
Who Can Benefit from Community Acupuncture
There are well-established points easily accessible in a seated position to treat most health challenges comfortably and effectively in the community acupuncture environment. This is the ideal venue for those who cannot afford private acupuncture sessions, but still want to experience the established healing benefits of acupuncture treatment.
