Creating A Self-Care Strategy Through Centering and Creative Journaling

This is a group for those who are interested in replendishing their inner resources. Through the acts of journaling, self-reflection, mindfulness and poetry, participants will find new tools to help cope with issues related to grief, illness and stress. Come find a safe place  to tap into the wellspring of hope!

About the Instructor: Susan Joy Riback is a Registered Nurse and Certified Poetry Therapist. In the last  ten years, she has worked as a poet in the schools, and as a facilitator of writing workshops integrating poetry and memoir for the purpose of self understanding and personal growth. She is the author of "Shaking the Sand Out: Poems of Motherhood" and is co-author of "Writing Away the Demons: Stories of Creative Coping Through Transformational Writing".

Meditation Sessions

Every Wednesday, 7:30 - 8:30pm  
FREE GUIDED MEDITATION

Every Wednesday evening,  the Center will offer free guided meditation sessions, led by Jim Whiting, our certified Kripalu Yoga teacher.

The free meditation sessions are available at The Center to practice and experience the deep state of meditation. These sessions serve as an introduction for beginners as well as a practice for experienced individuals in the cultivation of clarity and mindfulness.

Held at The Center for Integrative Health and Healing (directions) a mere 10 minutes south of Albany, NY in Delmar, NY.

Reiki Certification Classes

Reiki II Certification Class: Saturday, March 20, 2010: noon- 6pm

Reiki I  Certification Class: coming this Spring! check for details soon!

Fee
: $150 per class. Space is limited to 10 participants. Registration is required by calling our office. Please call: 518-689-2244.

Classes taught by Center staff, Sue Coughtry, Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Master Teacher and Rebecca Rice, Licensed Acupuncturist and Reiki Master.

Kripalu Yoga Classes

Our yoga classes are small in size so that individual attention can be given by our instructor.
Fees: $15 drop in; $42/3 week session; $72/6 week session

Tuesday: 7:30-9:00pm
Level 1 Yoga~ good for beginners and those with some yoga experience.

Thursday: 7:30-9:00pm
Easy Gentle Yoga~ good for beginners and those coming back to yoga after a long break or after an injury.

Saturday: 9:00-10:30am~ a great way to start your weekend.
Easy Gentle Yoga.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE: Please note there will be no classes Tuesday Dec 22 through Tuesday Dec 29

About the Instructor: Jim Whiting is a certified Kripalu Yoga instructor. A lifetime resident of the Albany area, Jim studied Yoga at the Kripalu Center in Massachusetts, meditation and Yoga philosophy at the American Meditation Institute in Averill Park, NY and the psychology of the Bhagavad Gita at the Hindu Temple in Loudonville, NY. Jim has been a practitioner of Yoga, Meditation and Yoga philosophy since 1996. The Center is honored to have Jim teach yoga. His gentle and focused style is a valuable teaching tool to yoga students. Learn more about Jim.
